Tipper-trailers

Trailer Landing Gear

Tipper-trailers

This type typically is used for transporting construction materials, which are normally loaded by a crane or excavator. On the chassis is a steel or aluminium heavy duty box where the bulk load is in. With a hydraulic cylinder the box can be pushed (tipped) upwards at an angle, causing the load to slide out of the box at the rear. Trips with these vehicles are short, so maximum payload is so critical for some of these vehicles that no landing gear is used at all. However, most tipper trailer transport companies use the LT ALU LEG to be able to park the uncoupled trailer. However, with a 25t loading capacity per set, even a loaded tipper trailer can be uncoupled and parked safely.
For the well know company Schmitz Cargobull our LT ALU LEG is standard on their tipper trailers.
