Walking floor trailers
Trailer Landing Gear
Walking floor trailers
In a walking floor trailer the floor is made of 21 hydraulic longitudinally moving planks. Every time a section of each third plank is pulled or pushed underneath the load and the load will not move. After that, the second and third section of the planks is moving as well. The final stage is that all planks come back and take the load along. This is repeated until loading or unloading is completed.
This trailer type has a large volume where normally bulk goods like beets, grain, potatoes, wood chips or pellets or waste disposal companies are transported width. For many of these bulk goods, there is often still volume left in the trailer, but the legally permitted weight has already been reached. So the lower the trailer weight, the better. Market leaders like Knapen, Kraker and Peischl install the LT ALU LEG when their customer wants the lightest vehicle possible.
